Panerai celebrates the reopening of the flagship boutique at ION Orchard mall in Singapore with a special edition Luminor GMT featuring customized details and available in 100 pieces starting from November.
The Panerai flagship boutique located within ION Orchard mall in Singapore debuted in 2011 and now is slated to reopen in October with a look that reflects the brand’s new aesthetic direction. A Panerai model bearing details tailored to the occasion, Luminor GMT ION Special Edition – 44 mm (PAM01177), heralds the changes with a compelling design concept.
Made in a limited edition of only 100 pieces and destined for exclusive sale at the boutique for which it was conceived, the new Panerai Luminor GMT ION Special Edition – 44 mm is the first limited edition dedicated to ION flagship boutique and features an AISI 316L steel case with a satin finish and polished steel bezel. The anthracite sandwich dial with satiné soleil decoration is an essential part of a considered and unified aesthetic language. In total, it is an authentic tribute to the symbols and colors of the “Lion City”.
One mark of the model’s specific identity is the presence of the dominant color from the Singapore national flag. Red, strategically deployed, appears on the small seconds hand at 9 o’clock, on the hand indicating home time and, on the crown, which is covered in an advanced rubberized coating. The color has also been applied to the second strap in Caoutchouc, the first such use of the color in the history of Panerai.
The model’s singular character is amplified by the re ned but discreet customization of the case and its components. A special “Singapore” engraving appears on the lever of the crown-protecting bridge and on the caseback, which also features the likeness of the Lion Head symbol with stylized graphics which is also embossed on the strap. The Lion Head is a distinctive National Symbol of Singapore and it symbolises three national values: courage, excellence and strength.
Equipped with a dual time function, the model features the Caliber P.9010 / GMT, a self-winding movement—entirely designed and developed in the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel– with dual barrels to store energy for a three-day power reserve. The movement has a time modification device connected to the date indicator that allows adjustment independent of the hour hand, in increments of one hour, both forward and backward.
Water-resistant to 30 bars (about 300 meters deep), the Luminor Panerai GMT ION Special Edition – 44 mm is fitted with a black Ponte Vecchio calfskin strap with white stitching and a trapezoidal pin buckle in brushed steel.
A second rubber strap in red, along with a strap changing tool, screwdriver to remove the buckle and a pear wood box round out the package.
